Aldgate Residence is situated in the picturesque small town of Aldgate within the Adelaide Hills region. It’s street frontage remains quaint and untouched, with its weathered French provincial shutters, that seamlessly sit upon the newly hand applied German smeared exterior. The home’s original charming facade privately conceals the substantial extension of an open plan kitchen, dining and living area, which opens generously onto an elevated decked alfresco, creating a home of two contrasting sides.

 

The thoughtful design of the open plan kitchen, dining, living and alfresco area features high raked ceilings with a series of detailed skylights, that bring the leafy established canopy above the original charmed residence into the home.

 

A combination of light and weighted materiality is shared throughout the design, detailing moments of French Provincial, American Hamptons and East Coast Australian architecture. These influences entwinned together form a signature Bianca Stratton Architects project
